Hi and welcome to the Valentine's Décor and Gifts Blog Hop.

If you happened here by chance you're in luck!
There will be 20 stops full of great ideas, so grab a beverage and head over to the hostess' blog.
Staci's blog is at http://preciousmem.blogspot.com/
The sponsor for this hop is Designs on Cloud 9 at http://designsoncloud9.com/ and she has offered us a $20 gift voucher for the GRAND prize. Head over to her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Designs-on-Cloud-9/189551027737837 and show her some love. One lucky person who comments on this hop will be the winner of this generous prize.
(One person from each stop will be chosen at random and
we will then hold a random draw with those 20 people and
one lucky person will win the grand prize).

I Love Valentine's Day...the little gifts and decorating it's so much fun.
If you came from Kimberly Pate you are in the right place.
I hope that you have been enjoying yourself :D
Here is what I came up with..

I want to show two projects
the first one is this "Be My Valentine" Wreath

I always have wanted to try this cone wreath.

I squared some book text paper. The squares are 7 3/4"

I just used the Tim Holtz mini attatcher

I just use one staple to hold it together.

then I cut a circle out of some chipboard and used it as the back

and I glued the tips to the chipboard

I cut the cupid from the Tim Holtz alterations die "Love Struck"
I glittered the little guy. I used 3 different colors
First I covered my cardstock with some sookwang tape

then a ran it through my big shoot

then I cut away away the pieces that I want to glitter one color

Then glitter the second color and so on

I used my cricut to cut the scallop circle
from Art Philosophy cartridge

Used an 8" doilie
I also cut the "be my valentine" from the calligraphy cartridge
I covered that in german glitter

I also popped the little cupid and did a stitch line with my white gel pen

For my second project
I wanted to share with you is a beautiful flower that my mom showed me how to make with cupcake liners

I used white cupcake liner
first you have to dye them with food coloring and hot water

once they sit there for a bit, just to get some color
you are going to squeeze all the water out of them

you want to separate and open them gentle
they will tear so be careful

then put them in the dryer to dry about 5-10 mins
until they are dry.

you could skip the whole process I just went through
and just mist them
I used moon shadow violaceous violet from Lindy Stamp Gang

Ok, putting the flower together
You need a chopstick or a wooden rod and some glue.

Fold cupcake liner in half and roll to make the center of the flower

add another one to make the center a little more fuller

Then you are just going to add each pedal to form your flower

you are just adding glue to the base and scrunching it there

I used book text strip 1/2" wide to cover the chopstick
I also added some leaves from Karls001

I just put glue on the tips of my fingers and twisted
the paper around the chopstick.

I added glitter to the edges of the pedals and I used stickles on the leaves.

here is the one I used with the mist
the texture is very different when you don't soak them in the hot water

I think these are so pretty. I hope you like them too

I hope this wasn't to long of a tutorial!

I always like to give a little RAk to one of my followers

As usual I'll use the random number generator.

comment by telling me your most romantic valentine's day.

please become a follower if you like what you see :D

I'll post a picture of the Rak that I will send
one lucky follower on Monday the 13th.

Your next stop is Lisa Marie Lam

Thank you for hopping along with us,
Liz

Hmmm...most romantic Valentine? Probably when the hubby & I were first dating. Trip to the waterfalls and homemade food. And getting surprised with gorgeous roses that probably cost a pretty penny $$...always in the beginning where you get wooed. ~ LOL

I love both of your projects! I am a new follower! My most romantic Valentine would have to be my hubby surprising me with an overnight trip, complete with roses, chocolate and champagne.

Your rose is gorgeous. Please tell me how you added the petals. Were they the whole cupcake liner opened or just a portion. I would love to try this. Thanks for sharing your talent.
