Here at my port we're in:
South Africa
My daughter took a trip to Durban this past summer with the University of San Francisco. She was there for 6 weeks. They went there to help with the street children through the organization Umthombo
It was a great experience for her and was very luck that she was able to go with the college.
This is my layout. I really had a hard time with this layout! I bought the South Africa paper when she was on her trip. Think oh easy! It has the name of the place she was visiting. Well, it's just turned out to be to busy for me. I was going to use as the back ground but it was to much for me to use it that way, lol. Then I thought to cut it as a title, this is what came of that paper. added some paint, I used the colors of the flag. I just had a hard time with this layout, maybe because I was trying to incorporate my daughters personality and not mine, lol. in the end it's one more layout done! I will have her journal on it in the empty space to the left of the LO.
I do have some blog candy for you. Become a follower (if you are not one)

Love the layout, and I know what you mean about background papers being busy, but with your photos, and other embellishments, it works!! Thanks for taking part in the hop with me!
Beautiful layout!
You did a great job with the layout. The best trip I have taken was my 10th Anniversary trip with my husband to WDW when we stayed at the Grand Floridian. I am a follower of your blog by email already.
I understand about the background being busy. This is fun and I am learning so much! Thank you for sharing!
Wow!!! South Africa...I'm jealous!!! Great layouts. And my best memory a trip that I've taken is hands down...to Paris! It was with my parents right after I graduated from high school. I still remember the smell of the city...brings back memories. I hope to go back there someday with the hubby this time! And I am a new follower. I would love for you to stop by my blog too....http://www.mycrazybubble.blogspot.com/

Love what you did with this! Very cool layout. My favorite trip had to be going to Boston eating all that awesome food and then the North End!
I like the layout! If this makes sense, when I think of S. Africa these are the colors I would associate with it. But I can understand what you mean about getting her personality and not yours. That would be hard I suppose!
My favorite memory of a trip would have to be going to Ireland. I never knew people could be so nice, and funny! I'm a new follower, thanks for sharing your project!

Liz I LOVE LOVE LOVE your layout! I've got a friend that lives in South Africa & because of him I recognize the names of the cities on the paper you used. AWESOME! I hope your daughter enjoyed her trip thoroughly & I'm sure she brought home memories that she will keep with her for the rest of her life.
